ek! Productions

ek! Productions was founded in 2005 by Katherine Hayes and Elisa Fraser as an exciting new way to bring creative talents from across the globe together in fringe theatre. Their first production, Barista Blues, written by Katherine and directed by Elisa, premiered at RADA during the Christmas season of 2005.

Following up their initial successes, ek! Productions are pleased to announce their second production After Venice. Returning to RADA, the show will premiere on the 7th September 2006 for a run of three nights. Katherine Hayes: Founder/Writer/Director

After graduating with a Literature and Journalism degree 2000, Katherine spent her early twenties in Osaka, western Japan working in the ESL language field and freelancing.

She moved to London in 2004 and began working as an online journalist, undertook internships at various publications including Timeout magazine, and became a contributor to The Fitzrovia News. In 2005 she completed her first novel and wrote her stage play Barista Blues, a comedy set in a coffee shop, based on experiences working within the hospitality industry. This was a collaboration with Elisa Fraser, whom she met at University prior to her move abroad in 1999.

In early 2006 she drafted a version of After Venice, and spent the next few months workshopping and rehearsing the script. She currently works in financial publishing, attends various writing workshops and enjoys communicating with fellow creatives.

 

Elisa Fraser: Founder/Producer/Director

Elisa fraser studied media and film production in the late 90's and directed several short films and worked on feature film scripts.

She moved to London in 2004, reuniting with Katherine Hayes to produce and direct the World Premiere of 'Barista Blues'. During this time she also developed feature film scripts, and together with Katherine, plans to develop comedy scripts for general distribution. Early 2007 sees Elisa Fraser prepare to shoot a documentary in Latin America.

Emily 'Professor' Ash: Associate

Emily studied Technical Arts Interpretation for film, theatre and T.V. at Wimbledon School of Art, graduating in 2005.

She has worked on all three mediums in various roles, notably as a creature designer, fabricator and performer with the Jim Henson Company for the feature film 'The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy' and other films including the Working Title production 'Wimbledon'.

She is also a prolific photographer and has undertaken commissions ranging from rock bands to florists, as well as providing the photography and design for both of ek! Productions' poster campaigns.
